In spring 2015, San Diego State University selected SP+ University Services to provide parking and transportation consultation services for its campus. SP+ developed best practices recommendations by conducting peer comparisons and review of existing conditions. The study focused on parking allocation systems and permitting practices, organizational structures, technology utilization, costs and fees, enforcement culture, customer orientation, and service culture.
By working with its strategic partners at Kimley-Horn, SP+ also developed key messaging for each of the campus community’s diverse user groups and their perceived parking and access challenges. This allowed for future opportunities in development and community engagement.
